The rules, in plain English

Maharashtra Rules We Handle

Maharashtra State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1975

Professional tax: PTRC and PTEC

Employers in Maharashtra hold a registration certificate (PTRC) to deduct professional tax from salaries and pay it to the state, and the business itself holds an enrolment certificate (PTEC) and pays its own. The tax is administered by the state's GST Department.

Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017

Registration or intimation

Establishments with fewer than ten workers file an intimation when they start. Following a state circular of April 2026, establishments with ten or more workers register under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code instead of separately under this Act, and the Act's other rules still apply.

Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1953

Twice a year

Covered establishments deduct the employee's share from June and December salaries and pay it, with their own share, to the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board. We confirm the current amounts before each deduction.

CGST Act, 2017

Section 143: job work

A registered manufacturer can send inputs and capital goods to a job worker without paying tax on the movement, provided they come back, or are supplied from the job worker's premises, within the period the Act allows. We track every challan so none turns into a taxable supply by default.

Questions we get asked

Pune: Questions, Answered

Do you have an office in Pune?

No. FinAura is based in Bangalore and works with Pune businesses remotely: video calls, shared folders and access to your accounting software and government portals. The monthly work does not need us on site.

Which Registrar of Companies handles a Pune company?

The Registrar of Companies, Pune. It covers Pune and seven other districts of Maharashtra: Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar), Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. All filings are made online on the MCA portal.

Do you work with manufacturers?

Yes. We keep inventory and costing records, account for job work and its GST, raise e-way bills and e-invoices from your billing, and prepare the stock statements your bank asks for.

We export software services. What do you handle?

We file the letter of undertaking (LUT) each year so exports go out without IGST, account for foreign currency receipts and match them to invoices, and run payroll and TDS for the team.

Who signs audits and certificates?

Our team prepares the work. Audits, certificates and other attest work are certified and signed by associate practising Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries we coordinate with.

How much do your services cost in Pune?

Fees depend on the size of the business and the scope, so we quote after a first conversation. Tell us what you need and we reply within one business day.
