Questions We Get Asked
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an MIS report?
A management information system (MIS) report is a regular summary of a company's financial and operating numbers for its managers: usually revenue, costs, profit, cash, receivables, payables and key ratios, with comparisons to budget and the previous period.
What should a monthly MIS for a small company include?
At minimum: profit and loss against budget, cash position and forecast, receivables and payables ageing, and three to five business KPIs. The format should fit on a page or two and carry a short commentary.
What is the difference between a budget and a forecast?
A budget is the plan you set for the year. A forecast is your updated expectation as the year unfolds. Good practice is to keep the budget fixed and refresh the forecast monthly or quarterly.
Can you build dashboards in Power BI or Google Sheets?
Yes. We connect dashboards to your accounting data so they refresh automatically, and we design them around the questions your management actually asks.
Do you build financial models for startups?
Yes, including models for fundraising, with unit economics, scenarios and the assumptions documented so investors can follow them.
