A common question

What changed in payroll under the labour codes?

Since 21 November 2025, wages are defined the same way across PF, ESI, gratuity and bonus, and allowances above half of total pay count as wages. Salary structures built to keep basic pay low may now cost more in contributions and gratuity.

State rules are still being notified, so the detail differs by state. We apply the rules of each state you employ people in.
