Trademark Registration

FinAura registers trademarks for business names, brand names and logos. We search the register for conflicting marks, choose the right classes for your goods and services, file the application, reply to the examiner's objections and track the mark through publication to registration. Once filed, you can use the ™ symbol; after registration, the ®.

  • Search before every filing
  • Objections and hearings handled
  • Bangalore and across India

A common question

When can I use ™ and ®?

You can use ™ once the application is filed; it tells others you claim the mark. The ® symbol can be used only after the mark is registered, and using it earlier is not allowed.

Registration lasts ten years and can be renewed indefinitely, as long as renewals are filed.

Questions we get asked

Trademark Questions, Answered

How long does trademark registration take?

Filing is quick; registration takes longer because the application is examined, published for opposition and then registered. You can use ™ from filing.

Should I register the name or the logo?

Ideally both. A word mark protects the name in any style; a logo mark protects the design. If you can file only one, the word mark usually gives wider protection.

What if the examiner objects?

Objections are common. We reply with arguments and evidence, and attend the hearing if one is scheduled.

How many classes do I need?

One for each category of goods or services you sell or plan to sell under the mark. We advise on the classes that matter for you.

How long is a trademark valid?

Ten years from the application date, renewable for further ten-year periods.
