Bookkeeping Services

FinAura's bookkeeping service records every sale, purchase, expense and bank entry in your Zoho Books or Tally Prime every week, codes it for GST and TDS, and reconciles it to your bank. A Chartered Accountant reviews the books before each month closes, so you always know where the business stands.

What is covered

What Our Bookkeeping Covers

Everything that moves money in or out of the business, recorded and matched every week.

Sales and receipts

Every invoice and credit note entered against the right customer with its GST, and every receipt matched to the invoice it settles.

Purchases and payments

Vendor bills recorded under the right expense head with GST input and TDS, and every payment matched to the bill it pays.

Expenses and reimbursements

Card spends, petty cash and employee claims recorded with their supporting bills, so nothing is left sitting in a suspense account.

Bank and card reconciliation

Every bank and card account reconciled to its statement, so the balance in the books is the balance in the bank.

Payroll entries

Salaries, PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS posted from the payroll register, whoever runs your payroll.

GST and TDS coding

Each entry tagged so your GST and TDS returns come straight out of the books, with nothing re-keyed.

A common question

Bookkeeping or accounting: what is the difference?

Bookkeeping is the recording: every sale, purchase, expense and bank entry entered in the books, coded and matched. Accounting is what is built on top of it: adjustments, reconciliations, financial statements and the judgement behind them.

You need both, and they work best done by the same team. FinAura's bookkeeping always ends in a monthly close reviewed by a Chartered Accountant. If you want the whole back office handled, including payables, receivables and reporting, see end-to-end accounting.

The rules, in plain English

What the Law Asks of Your Books

Companies Act, 2013

Section 128

Every company keeps books of account that give a true and fair view of its affairs, at its registered office or another place the Board decides, and preserves them for at least the eight financial years before the current one.

Companies (Accounts) Rules, 2014

Rule 3

Books kept electronically must stay accessible in India at all times, with a daily back-up on servers physically in India. For financial years starting on or after 1 April 2023, the accounting software must keep an audit trail of every change that cannot be switched off.

CGST Act, 2017

Income-tax law

Books and tax audit

Businesses and professions above the prescribed limits must keep books of account, and a tax audit follows above further limits. The limits change from time to time, so we confirm which apply to you before the year starts.

This is general information, not advice for your situation; we confirm what applies to you before any work starts.

Questions we get asked

Bookkeeping Questions, Answered

What do bookkeeping services include?

Recording every sale, purchase, expense, receipt and payment, coding each entry for GST and TDS, posting payroll entries and reconciling every bank and card account. FinAura closes the books every month after a Chartered Accountant's review and sends you the profit and loss and balance sheet.

How often are my books updated?

Every week. Documents are picked up and posted weekly, queries come to you as one list, and the month is closed and reviewed in the first week of the next month.

Do you need access to my bank account?

No. We work from bank and card statements, or from a read-only bank feed in your accounting software. We never ask for banking passwords and never make payments from your accounts.

Which software do you keep the books in?

Mostly Zoho Books and Tally Prime, in your own account so the data stays yours. If you use something else we can usually work in it, and if you have nothing yet we set it up.

Is bookkeeping enough for a private limited company?

A company needs books that give a true and fair view, on the accrual basis, kept for at least eight years and audited every year. Our bookkeeping covers the recording and monthly close; the statutory audit is done by your appointed auditor, and we prepare the books, schedules and statements they need.

Can you take over books that are months behind?

Yes. We first bring the books current as a one-time clean-up project, rebuilding missing months and reconciling every account, then move to weekly bookkeeping.

How much do bookkeeping services cost in India?

It depends on how many transactions you have each month, how many bank accounts and GST registrations you run, and whether payroll is included. After a short call we send a fixed monthly quote, so there are no surprises.

Do you provide bookkeeping outside Bangalore?

Yes. We are based in Bangalore and keep books for businesses across India, with documents shared online and reviews on a video call.
