Accounting & Bookkeeping
FinAura runs your accounts function end to end: bookkeeping, vendor and customer ledgers, reconciliations, the monthly close and the reports that come out of it. You get the output of an in-house accounts team, reviewed by a Chartered Accountant, without hiring, training or replacing one.
What is covered
Everything an in-house accounts team would do, run by ours and reviewed by a Chartered Accountant.
Every sale, purchase, expense and bank entry recorded weekly and coded for GST and TDS.
Vendor bills checked, recorded and scheduled, with TDS deducted and vendor ledgers kept clean.
Invoices raised or recorded, receipts matched, and a customer ageing you can chase from.
Bank, card, GST, vendor and customer balances reconciled every month, with differences explained.
Accruals, prepaid expenses and provisions booked so each month's profit is the month's real profit.
Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash position and ageing, sent with a short note on what changed.
How the month runs
Close and report in week one, then pay, collect, record and match through the month.

A common question
An in-house accountant gives you one person's time and one person's knowledge. When they are on leave, leave the job or meet something new, such as a tax notice or a fundraise, the work stops or goes wrong. Outsourcing gives you a team with a Chartered Accountant reviewing every month, for a fixed fee.
Many clients keep one person in-house for daily tasks such as collecting bills and approving payments, and hand the accounting itself to FinAura. Both setups work; we will tell you honestly which suits your size.

The rules, in plain English
Companies Act, 2013
Every company keeps books of account that give a true and fair view of its affairs, at its registered office or another place the Board decides, and preserves them for at least the eight financial years before the current one.

Books kept electronically must stay accessible in India at all times, with a daily back-up on servers physically in India. For financial years starting on or after 1 April 2023, the accounting software must keep an audit trail of every change that cannot be switched off.
Official source: mca.gov.inCGST Act, 2017
Every GST-registered business keeps its accounts and records at its principal place of business and retains them for 72 months from the due date of the annual return for that year, or longer while an appeal or proceeding is open.

Businesses and professions above the prescribed limits must keep books of account, and a tax audit follows above further limits. The limits change from time to time, so we confirm which apply to you before the year starts.

Questions we get asked
Bookkeeping, payables, receivables, reconciliations of every account, the monthly close with accruals and provisions, and monthly financial statements. A Chartered Accountant reviews each month before the reports reach you.
No. We prepare payment runs and you approve them. Payments are released by you from your bank; we never hold banking passwords or move money.
Yes. Many clients keep someone in-house for daily tasks. We agree who does what, and we review and close the books every month.
Usually within a few weeks. We first check where the books stand; if they are behind, we bring them current before starting the monthly routine.
Your books stay in your own Zoho Books or Tally Prime account, access is given to named people only, and work is reviewed by a Chartered Accountant. You can see the books at any time.
It depends on transaction volume, the number of bank accounts and GST registrations, and whether payroll and tax filings are included. After a short call we send a fixed monthly quote.
